AA-no free stopover--cheap flights to London from cities in Europe?

AA has just changed their FF policy and will not allow a free stopover in Europe anymore. We (6 of us) were going to stopover in London on a trip in Aug 2010. We will be flying into Rome and then traveling around Italy/Switz, Germany for a few weeks.
Assuming I have a few cities to work with (Zurich, Venice, Munich, etc.), am a "safe' to assume that I could get a low cost flight (under $100) on BA from somewhere in this area to London next year-- and thus, plan my return flight of London back to the US?

My other option would be to return out of Paris--in case I get "stuck," as I could easily train to Paris from Germany.

Elaine - Taking a look at skyscanner.net there are 50 GBP flights all through july from Munich to London Heathrow. So Even at the high conversion rate of 2:1 awhile back that would be 100 USD.

Skyscanner.net will let you plug through the different permutations as to what is best for you.

To book a flight like you describe (DC to Rome, London to DC) look for "multi-city" flights. Then you can book a flight from somewhere in Europe to London before catching your return leg home. There are a lot of options, depending on where you fly from to London.
