This may be a dumb question but here goes. I am flying Alaska from Spokane to Seattle to Chicago and then AA from Chicago to Dublin. AA does not allow online check in for international flights and does not fly out of Spokane. I would like to check in for my AA flight in Seattle just in case flights are late. Will I need to out to the main terminal to the AA ticket desk and then back through security or is there a way to check in without leaving the secure area.
Call Alaska and see if they can link the itineraries. AA and Alaska are partners and so this should be doable. If you can do this, all you'll have to do is check in once in Spokane. I've helped friends do it before using British Airways and Alaska (BA is another Alaska partner) so it shouldn't be a problem.
You probably can't check in for your Chicago flight in Seattle.
Are any of your Alaska flights codeshare with AA? If so, you might be able to check in for all of your flights in Spokane since some Horizon flights are AA codeshare.
Best bet...call AA and ask.
And if you're checking bags, ask about that as well.
