So is the Porsche for “coach” passengers with a tight connection? Will they roll out a Bentley for the business class passengers (and their luggage)?

Remember back when somebody had to run through an airport, sometimes jumping over suitcases? Wait, maybe that was to get a car rental, not to catch a plane. Anyway, they’d wind up in a white Ford Bronco, not a Porsche 911. Times have changed.

Air Canada has been offering Porsche transfer services to it's Signature Class passengers for a number of years now, at both Toronto and Vancouver. They utilize Panameras, Cayenes, and Taycans - I've only ridden in the Panameras. And you don't have to have a tight connection. They greet you as you emerge from the aircraft in Domestic Arrivals and immediately take you down the stairs to the car and across the tarmac to an escalator to International Departures.

I once had a Porsche transfer on Delta from a satellite concourse at Seattle's airport to the main concourse. Flying first class. Diamond Medallion. 35 minute connection time (arriving from Boise, departing to Atlanta). I walked off the plane ready to double-time it to my connecting flight when I saw a guy holding an iPad with my name on it. Confused, I said, "Thats' me." He smiled, said come with me, and took me down the steps of the jet bridge to a waiting Cayenne. He said, "You can't ask for this. We just do it sometimes to surprise and delight our passengers." Then we drove amidst the planes to a set of doors near my departure gate. He led me up the stairs, dropped me at the gait, gave a final smile, and disappeared.
