We are arriving in London on the Chunnel; is the train station to Edinburgh at the same location or is it close? Thinking about how much time we need to get from Chunnel location. Thank you
You will arrive at St Pancras train station (via the channel tunnel); as far as I know, the station for Edinburgh is Kings Cross and is next door. It would be nice to have at least half an hour to make the connection. You may need more time if you have an interest in shopping for food in the St Pancras station. You may want to buy a picnic lunch in one of the shops.
thank you for your input especially the food idea!
Linda, For the trip from London to Edinburgh you'll likely be using East Coast Rail, which departs from King's Cross. You can walk there from London St. Pancras. You can achieve considerable savings on that trip by pre-booking the tickets. Check the excellent Man In Seat 61 website for details. As Swan mentioned, there are LOTS of food shops at St. Pancras, including Pret A Manger which I always enjoy. Happy travels!
