9 hours in Reykjavik, Iceland on the way

Hi All We are flying to London on Reykjavik Air. We will have 9 hours and need ideas for exploring Reykjavik or the area. Has anyone gone on a day trip from the airport? or other neat ideas? We are looking for things to do beyond the Blue Lagoon! Also anyone have suggestions for places to eat and purchase food for the next leg of our flight? Thanks to for your wisdom

I would say you have time for Reykjavik stroll and Blue Lagoon. If you rent a car you can see more. Personally I would not do that with jet lag and fatigue after long flight. You can purchase food in supermarket in Reykjavik. Keflavik airport is very expensive. There are plenty of restaurants in Reykjavik.

Your 9h layover is more like this 9h - total layover time minus 1h - unboarding + immigration minus 1h40 - minimum anticipation on airport before your ongoing flight
minus 2x30min - time to reach downtown this gives you, effectively, 5h20 at most of useful time.

Oh good point about actual time. Sounds like hanging out and beating jet lag is our itinerary for Reykjavik. Thanks for everyone's good suggestions
