Does anyone on here ever travel to Australia? I'm interested in any tips available. Also, do you know if Australia's internal flights have the same liquid restrictions? I plan on buying my liquids there, but have 3 internal flights within 3 wks. That could get expensive if I have to discard them and buy new after each flight. Thanks!
We went to Sydney a couple of years ago. That was before the tight liquid restrictions. Just buy travel sizes - I've found that the limits are not so limiting- should be able to do 3 weeks on one supply. Or just use the freebes at the hotel.
I'm not a regular flyer on regular airlines, so this is what I got off the QANTAS website: "From 31 March 2007, the Australian Government introduced enhanced security screening measures. This involves limiting the amount of liquids, aerosols and gels that can be taken through the security screening point for passengers who are flying; to and from Australia; or on an Australian domestic sector operated by an international flight." Please also be aware that some other things that I've read on this site that are allowed on USA flights like knitting needles, aren't allowed on Aussie flights.
I know the liquid restrictions are very rigidly enforced for international in and out of Australia and internal transfers from an international flight as Robyn found on the Qantas website. What I am not sure of is if there are restrictions for internal/domestic flights. I must admit I just don't carry liquids in my hand luggage anymore. From memory of the last couple of times I have flown there wasn't any check but would bank on that being normal proceedure. Go to the website of whoever you are flyng with and see what they say.
Hi the travel liquid restrictions are very much in force in Australia, you cannot even take a a bottle of water through. So i would suggest you look at the australian government website, department of transport and regional services and it gives you the inforamtion about what liquids, aerosols and gels you can board with.
