What's the cheapest way to buy a one way ticket? I have checked RailEurope.com and Czech railway site and prices vary considerably. Also, what do you recommend for purchase from Salzburg to Munich?

R Europe is NOT a good source for pricing information. They sell limited tickets are marked up prices. For Munich use bahn.com.

Agreed, don't use RailEurope. The Austria Rail website might allow you to purchase a ticket in that direction (Prague to Vienna) online. I'm sure if you buy your ticket in Prague, you'll get the best price. From Salzburg to Munich, the best price is using regional trains and a €21 Bayern-Ticket-Single (2-5 P, €29). Regional trains only take ½ hr longer and you save a lot with the Bayern-Ticket.
