We arrive on Monday 10/3 and understand that Ostia antica is closed on Monday. Is there naything to be seen by "walking around" it?? 2Is there a bus service either from Civitaveccia port to either FCO airport , or to the general area of FCO?

The attraction at Ostia Antica is walking among the ruins. It was fun to see how an ancient Roman city was layed out and what it might have been like to live there. I don't think it's worthwhile to visit if you can't go in and walk around. We had a leased car and visited Ostia the morning we got to Rome. Then turned our car in and trained into Rome. I don't recall good transportation options to Ostia. There may be a bus route; that far out, however, is likely to be an eternity to get to and from
Rome as a bus commute.
