We will be traveling from Venice to Paris in October and since the train is only at night, thought we might rent a car to see more sites. The only place we've found that offers an automatic for a one way rental is AutoEurope. Anybody have any other suggestions? Thank you.

The direct train with no changes is at night, but there are lots of options that you could take during the daytime, such as Venice to Milan to Paris, Venice to Milan to Zurich to Paris, etc. You could spend a night along the way at any of a number of wonderful places. (Lots of places in Switzerland come to mind, around the halfway point.) Check the price for the drop fee on the car before you decide. And the price of petrol, and insurance on a car rented in Italy.

Hi there,there are trains thaqt go during the day. We are going by train from Venice to Paris in Aug. Leaves at lunchtime in Venice, gets to Paris at 11.30pm with a change in Milan. Thats if you really want to go by train of course.
