I am trying to purchase six tickets on Trenitalia's site, but it only allows me to choose 5 adults. Am I missing something here? Do I have to do this in two transactions? Thanks for any help.

Yes, from my experience that's the case. I know you don't have any minors, and I think you only need to possibly reserve Florence - Rome; chances are you can sit together even if your reservations aren't. On the Ron In Rome website he 'may' show you how to move your seats together by using the ticket machine...I just can't remember offhand...

Eileen is correct... here's the page to which she referred, Booking on the Trenitalia Website . Unfortunately, you can only buy five tickets at once. If you're riding the fast trains, you can purchase through the Le Frecce section of the Trenitalia website and actually CHOOSE specific seats by numbers and location. I'd do "four" and "two" and then if there are not six seats available together, at least someone is not sitting alone.
