what is the best way to get from the cruise ship terminal to athens? Is the hop on hop off bus a good way to go?

Penny, I was there last year, and as I recall Metro Line 1 goes to Piraeus, but I can't remember which area of the port it serves (the Port area is rather large). If you can connect with that, you'll easily be able to reach Syntagma Square or other locations. Penny, I don't believe the hop on hop off bus route serves the Pireaus area. I agree with Ken, take metro line 1 (Green line) into central Athens getting off at Monastiraki or Syntagma (or any other stop you need). Hope that helps! Katie
