RENFE to change AVE ticket system larger | smaller By h.b. - May 29, 2011 - 8:37 PM Ticket prices will vary according to demand Photo EFE RENFE Spanish Railways has taken the first step to make its ticket system more flexible, and will be fixing AVE high speed prices in line with demand, as often seen in low-cost airlines. New software and a new data base will set the offer and demand for each route on each date and is expected to see cheaper tickets at off-peak times. The company says that it wants to maximise the profit from each seat and optimise train occupancy, describing the new procedure as 'a fundamental tool' in the future of the company.
