The bus leaves from Rome's Tiburtina bus station daily at 14:00. Pay the driver. No need to make reservations or pre-book (so says Giuseppi at Curreri ravel). Fare is now E17,50 one-way. About 3+ hrs to Circumvesuviana station in Sorrento. This is supposed to be safer and more comfortable than the train that runs through Naples (ugh!) My wife and I are doing this also in Sept.
