What is best/most economical way to get from Dublin to Edinborough? Plan to spend 1 week in Ireland/N. Ireland, then second week in Scotland, flying into Dublin and out of Edinborough (or the reverse) on a driving vacation? Returning car in second country is cost prohibitive.
Susan, The most "economical way" to get from Dublin to Edinburgh is via budget air. I haven't checked, but as I recall RyanAir has flights from Dublin, and if Belfast is your last stop, EasyJet has flights. Happy travels!
We just returned from a Scotland/Ireland trip. I bought tickets a couple months before our trip online from Aer Lingus and the price was very reasonable. The flight is 45 minutes and the Air Link bus to downtown Dublin runs often and also a very reasonable price.
Rent a separate car in Ireland and in Scotland. problem solved
You probably can't cross-border a car between the UK and the RoI (in either direction) anyway.
