Do you have to vaildate tickets on Spanish train on the day of travel like on French trains?

I have not needed to validate a ticket. Purchase on line, print out, present copy at the gate, and walk right on the train. They do leave on time!! And the AVE trains are very nice also...The one from Madrid to Salamanca, while not an AVE was good as well.

Generally you only validate open tickets. If the ticket is train and seat specific, it is only good for that train so validation is not necessary.
