We will be staying in an apartment in 64 rue de caumartin so there will be no reception staff to ask for help, so glad you are of service!!! My mum and i will be going to nice after our stay in paris.I think the closest metro is saint lazare or hauve- caumartin.Is it easy to get to the train station from here.
I assume all trains to Nice are from gare de lyon?

Nice is gare de Lyon yes. Get the express Metro Line 14 from Sainte-Lazare to gare de Lyon: no changes necessary.

Heidi, Philip was a bit faster with a reply, but I was also going to suggest travel by Metro from Saint-Lazare to Gare de Lyon (it will be the fourth stop, direction Olympiades). You've probably already noted that the trip from Gare de Lyon to Nice Ville is a minimum of 5H:39M via TGV. The Haussman-Saint Lazare RER station is actually a bit closer to your apartment, however the route to Gare de Lyon is more convoluted so Metro is a better choice. The distance from your apartment to the Metro station appears to be within reasonable walking distance, however that will depend on whether your Mum doesn't mind the walk. Happy travels!
