6 a.m. flight out of Budapest

I have a 6 a.m. flight out of Budapest. It is at the end of the RS tour. Will the hotel arrange for transportation? I will have only carry-on luggage.

Have no idea for your specific request. However, in our travels, our hotels have always been willing to arrange a taxi or a shared shuttle. All ask your guide for assistance.

When we landed in Budapest, we got a round trip shuttle to our hotel. They picked us up at our hotel at the appointed time. The shuttle service has a booth out in the concourse selling their services.

I absolutely avoid any 6:00 a.m. flights returning to North American from Europe. Most travelers will go to large gateway European airports where they'll sit around until midday when the flights leave going overseas. It's difficult enough flying 10 hours without getting very little or no sleep the night before. Unfortunately, there are only two flights from Budapest to the U.S.--JFK on LOT Polish Airlines and American Airlines through Philadelphia seasonally.

I did an early flight out of Budapest a few years ago. As I recall, I confirmed with the hotel the night before departure that a taxi could be called in the morning and got to the lobby the following morning with plenty of time to spare.

I arranged with my Budapest hotel a night or two in advance for a taxi to take me to my early morning flight out of Budapest. The driver was in the hotel lobby, early, waiting for me.

When you emailed the hotel to ask about early morning transportation to the airport, what did they say? Or if you didn't, what did the RS tour office tell you when you contacted them to ask?

I’ve taken the 6-6:30 am flight home from Budapest 3 times now—just call City Taxi and have them pick you up at 4 am, you’ll arrive in plenty of time to check in & get breakfast.

Thanks all. I live in Amsterdam. No worries about a trans-Atlantic flight. Flying KLM.
