We arrive 8pm at the Barcelona Airport from Paris. I really would like to see Dali's home and museum. I was considering renting a car, driving and stay overnight in Girona or Figueres so we could see the sights then return the car to Barcelona Airport before heading into the city for 4 days. We do not have the time to incorporate the trip via trains as our next few days are booked with commitments. Thoughts?

You will quite enjoy driving in Spain. In April, we drove over 4,000 kilometres on their wonderful roads. Driving in a few of the large cities is a bit nerve racking so we tried to keep that to a minimum. Your plan to pick-up & return the rental car to the airport is a really good idea.

Agree with the others. Very easy to get in and out of the Barcelona airport. I would recommend a GPS along with a good map.

Thanks all. I have my international DL and will book the car. I am not planning on driving into Barcelona and will get the GPS.
