Would appreciate suggestions for most efficient way to get from Vienna to Cesky Krumlov for a day of sightseeing before continuing on to Prague.
Hi Shelley, I would call and ask "Sebastian tours" if they have a shuttle going to Vienna on the day you want to get to CK. Almost daily they depart CK at 9am and arrive in Vienna around 12:15. The drivers then returns to CK most often empty so I am certain that they would enjoy taking you to CK. Cost one way is 1090 Koruna. This would get you into CK around 4:30 - 5PM. You can find info on the net: WWW. Sebastianck-tours.com. The "Pension Lobo" located in Ck does the same thing for the exact same price. You can find them on the net as well. I'd spend the night then bus CK to Prague's Florenc bus station (195 Koruna). There is a metro stop right there so it makes the onward trip easy. If you take a cab call for a "City Taxi" (ask the info booth folks to help you) don't just take any taxi parked outside the station. CK = FUN!
Try CK Shuttle for Vienna to Cesky Krumlov. Website: http://www.ckshuttle.cz And try Student Agency Bus for Cesky Krumlov to Prague. Website: http://www.studentagency.cz An overnight stay will be a must regardless of how you do it. It's a long way between Vienna & Cesky Krumlov and Cesky Krumlov to Prague. You will need at least 4 - 6 hrs to sight see the castle and town properly.
