Hi - I found a rate on the OEBB website for a daytime train from Venice to Vienna (my husband won't do overnight trains because he can't sleep on them) for 29 euro. Is the price good enough to reserve now, or is it better to get a pass and play it by ear?

It's a good deal! The longer you wait to book, the higher the fare. The standard 2nd class walk-up fare for that route is 71.70 EUR. In case you weren't aware of it, you will take a bus to Villach and a train from there to Vienna.
Thanks for the reply. Of course the 29 euro fare is already gone for the later train we wanted, but still available for the earlier one. Is it okay to buy this ticket through the Austrian OBB website (I think it's a SparSchiene), even though we're leaving from Venice?
