My cruise will stop by Genoa, Italy, and I will have 10 hours to kill. Could you recommend how to make the best use of my time? Is Milan worth the visit? Or shall I just stay in Genoa? Thanks.
If you go to www.cruisecritic.com you can get tons of info & suggestions on all the ports your ship will visit.
Hi Sharon
We stayed in Genoa for 3 days before our cruise.
It is the kind of city best seen by foot. It is very easy to walk around and explore the side streets. The is a good aquarium at the harbor and market to eat but watch out for the north Africa, men who try to push trinkets into your hand to get money. Explore the shops and churches, Christopher Columbus house. You can take the train to the cinque terra takes about 90 minutes each way to Riomaggiore. Via Septembre is the main street to do shopping and just 10 minute walk from the Hotel Bristol to the Brignole station. We just had fun exploring all the alley ways and eating the best canolli ever. If you type in walking tours of Genova you can find info on this. Have Fun.
