I am planning our trip to Europe in June 2013 and wanted to know the most efficient/economical way to purchase the train tickets for each leg of the journey. We are 2 adults and 1 16 year old. Here are the different routes: 1. Warsaw to Krakow 2. Krakow to Prague (prefer the overnight train) 3. Prague to Munich 4. Munich to Seefeld, Triol Austria
5. Seefeld to Ljubljana While visiting each of these places we will be taking local trains to see different sites but I figured we'd purchase those once we arrive in each city. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi, Looks good. There are express trains in Poland along with local ones. Buying the point to point tickets is what I would do too with such an itinerary since rail tickets are rather cheap to CZ and Poland. I've done the Warsaw-Krakow route.
The least expensive way from Prague to Munich is to buy a 30€ Bayern-Ticket online from the Bahn website and Czech Rail tickets in Prague (about 10€/person) for Prague to Furth im Wald. The fastest way is by express Bahn bus. You can purchase that ticket from the Bahn website. With a non-refundable, advance purchase ticket, it can be as little as 29€/person. For Munich to Seefeld, you can use another Bayern-Ticket to Mittenwald and point-point tickets (7,70€/person) from there to Seefeld.
