First, what is the most efficient way for a group (6 - 8 travelers) of 70 - 75-year olds to get from CDG to Paris (city)? Can you suggest something like an airport shuttle? Cost?
Next, After a couple of days in Paris, we will be traveling on through France and other parts of Europe and need a rental car. Where is the best place to pick up the car (without dealing with traffic back to CDG)? Thanks.

Actually, we want to drop the car in Munich (after traveling across France, Switzerland, and a little of Italy. (Ambitious, aren't we?!)
Two taxis will be cheaper than two shuttles. There are minivan taxis in the ranks at CDG. If there are eight of you and a fair amount of luggage, you may need the extra room they provide.
Are you aware that there is a hefty fee for picking up a rental car in one country and dropping it off in another?
Have you checked into leasing through Peugeot Open Europe or Renault Eurodrive?
