I've been pouring over all the information, but I need some help sorting it all out. My husband and I (retired) are escorting some students to Greece in June. When they go home, we're staying for 10 more days and flying out of Munich. From Athens we will go to Naples to visit Pompeii, then Rome, then make our way to Munich. I know we can fly from Athens to Naples, but it's as much about the journey as the destination. Has anyone done the train and ferry to Bari or Brindisi? Train travel in Italy? It will cost a little less than $400 for us to fly, but we'll use trains after that. I'm looking at the Italy-Greece railpass, too. We've traveled a lot; I've been to Greece and Italy before, but this is the first time we're doing it on our own. I was thinking of getting the pass, then buying individual tickets from the Italian border. Any help to sort this all out will be appreciated!
