Paris Metro Pass

We arrive in Paris on a Friday, so we can't use the Carte Orange at least for the first three days we're there. Is there another kind of pass we could use or should we use individual tickets?

You can buy a Paris Visite 3 day pass (not as cheap as the CO's) but they start on any day and are consecutive. or you can buy a carnet of 10 tickets and see how many trips you make each day.

If you're going to stay within zones 1-2 the first three days, here are your choices: (1) Share carnets of ten tickets at €11.10, (2) Buy zone 1-2 one-day Mobilis passes at €5.60 for any day you know you'll take five or more rides, or (3) buy zone 1-3 three-day Paris Visite passes for €18.60.

If you like to walk and linger at sights, you may not take as many rides as you thought you would. In that case, sharing carnets works well. If you buy several Mobilis passes, note that each one will only be good for the day you use it for the first time. Mark them in some way so you don't mix them up.

I would just use individual tickets. We rarely used more than 3 tickets when in Paris per day, and walked around instead.
