We will be taking the train from Vienna to Zurich direct. How does it work when you have an Austria Saver Pass & cross into another country? Can we just pay for the Swiss portion on the train? Thanks.

Pay for the Swiss portion, at the train station in Vienna. Explain your situation to the clerk and they will sell you the proper ticket.

And by the way, the "board price", paying on the train, is usually higher.
