After reading many posts from travelers about CDG I am getting concerned about how long it will take to make a connecting flight from CDG to Florence. We arrive by American Airlines at 10:55am and I need to book a connecting flight to Florence. Any information on how long it has been taking to clear immigration and get from international terminal to Air France terminal would be greatly appreciated.
American Airlines flights use Terminal 2A. Air France flights to Florence use Terminal 2D. Walking between 2A and 2D will probably be faster than taking the free shuttle bus. See the maps and other helpful information at www.easycdg.com.
AA and AF are codeshare partners. If you are booked all the way through on one ticket, your luggage will be transferred for you and if you arrive too late to make your connection, AF will be obligated to put you on the next available flight. You will not have to clear immigration until you get to Italy. 45 minutes is the minimum connecting time allowed within Terminal 2. AA/AF will allow you to book the 12:05 flight; but if you want to play it safe, book the 13:20 flight.
