We will be going to the south of France for a wedding in Sept and want to rent a car. I'm confused about what insurance I need. Can some of you seasoned travelers give me a clue? Thanks, Larry

Rick gives specific advice about this on pages 24 & 25 of his "Provence & the French Riviera" book. Suggest you also determine whether your US medical insurance would cover you in Europe and, if not, obtain insurance that would cover medical treatment resulting from an accident on the trip; this kind of coverage should not be expensive because it is for a short period of time.

Call your credit card company and your own insurance agent. Tell them where you'll be driving and what happens if you total the car. The main issue is whether or not you need to buy the CDW.
