We will be in Madrid 9/19 for 3 days. I would like to experience a flamingo dance and eat this rosted pig that showed on Rich Steve's video tape. Any suggestions what to do.
I associate flamingo more with southern Spain and Seville. I am sure there is something in. The roasted baby pig is in Segovia. Right on the plaza. An easy day trip from Madrid.
Flamingo is a large pink bird. Flamenco is a Spanish dance.
As opposed to Madrid, Iowa...
Check Rick's Spain book.....tons of suggestions (and directions) there.
Yeah, Madrid, Iowa is about 30 miles north of here, but the pink flamingos are at the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. I just checked...greased pig contest and dancing are available at the big Labor Day festival in Madrid. They'll probably have pulled pork sandwiches...big at fairs and festivals here. Sorry...no roast suckling pig.
Seriously, check Rick's Spain 2009 book for details...info on Flamenco in Madrid on page 338-339. And, the roast suckling pig may be found in Segovia.
