My wife and I will be leaving Budapest for Ljubljana on Sunday April 29, all I can find out is the train leaves in the early am, need help on reservations, cost etc. We will be in Budapest for 3 days, will this be enough time to obtain tickets etc, thanks in advance, Mike Morley
As soon as you arrive ask someone where you can buy RR tickets. Usually that means the station. Go there and tell the clerk where you want to go. Most stations will furnish you with a computer print showing the departure and arrival times, stations where you may have to change trains and all the details of your trip. When you go to the platform ask someone which car you should get on and be sure you are on the right train. Ask lots of questions to be sure you get where you are going.
Budapest has three railroad stations. The Keleti and Nyugati on the Pest side and the Deli on the Buda side. Make sure you know which station you will be leaving from.
