We are returning from Istanbul (ETBD Turkey tour) at 2130 on May 11, and departing for Seattle at 1030 the next morning. Any recommendations for cheapest and/or most convenient accommodations at or very near CDG for a few hours' sleep? We suspect the cost will be exorbitant, but may be worth it to our senior citizen bodies.

The Sheraton Paris Airport would probably be your best bet, provided your budget will allow. It's built into Terminal 2, so is about the most convenient and easy to access. The Hotel advertises that the location "allows guests to walk from their plane right into their guest room".

Actually, you can get very reasonable accommodations at or near CDG. The Accor chain has several hotels nearby. The cheapest is the Formule 1 Roissy Aeroport CDG PN2. You'll need to share a bathroom. The next in line is the Etap Hotel Roissy CDG Paris Nord 2. Both hotels provide free shuttle bus service to CDG. One more step up is the Ibis Charles de Gaulle Aeroport/Terminal. It is located right next to Terminal 3 and it is only a short walk to the free 24/7 CDGVAL driverless shuttle train that connects all the terminals. Go to www.accorhotels.com and enter Roissy as the location point. You'll get a two-page list of hotels in the chain, starting with the most expensive. Be aware that several Ibis, Etap, and Formule 1 hotels will be listed. The ones I gave you are closest to CDG.

There's a hotel actually in the airport, a chain, sorry can't remember which, maybe the Hilton. It is perfect because you are right there, I've stayed there twice and it was great. And the cost wasn't that bad, especially for the convenience!

we have stayed at the Etap hotel near CDG, it is not luxury but it works for us, they also have a free shuttle to the airport.
