Does anyone know how far it is from Paris Mont 1 & 2 train station to the Paris Nord station and the best way to get from one to the other?

If the train station you mean is Paris Montparnasse, I asked this question a month or so back. I'll give you the link rather than re-typing the replies I got here.
It is fairly easy. I think it takes less than 20 minutes on the metro.

Take Metro line 4 to Denfert Rochereau. Transfer to the RER B and take it to Gare du Nord. As Roxanne says, the total time will be less than 20 minutes.

Oops! I gave you a less-than-the-best route. Simply take Metro line 4 directly from Gare Montparnasse to Gare du Nord. The time will still be less than 20 minutes.
