I'm doing some trial runs on the TGV site for trips from Paris to Hendaye and every itinerary comes up with a red triangle with the warning "Attention, you cannot make reservations for certain journeys in this list." My dates are within the 3 month range. There is no indication that I can see that connects the warning with any particular itinerary. Is this just a general warning that always comes up or am I missing something?
Nancy, My guess is that either TGV doesn't have trains for every leg in the journey, or some of the legs don't require accept reservations.
I use raileurope.com sometimes to plan the jouney and understand the legs and then go to TGV to book the legs.
The reason for the warning is some routes for Paris-Hendaye aren't all on TGVs. If you pick a time that requires changing from a TGV to a regional train (indicated by "ter"), then you'll have a reserved seat on the TGV leg but not on the regional leg. No reservations are possible on regional trains.
Thanks so much. That makes sense.
