Italy trip

Hello,
We leave Venice on the 10th of Dec for Rome, where we stay for two days before heading to Malta by air. Arrive back in Rome on the 2nd of Jan either by ferry or air. (no bookings made)Would like to see Sicily and southern Italy. We also have 3nights in Sorrento, then 3 nights in Rome before we fly home.

I'm wondering what might be the best way to do this and should we buy single country pass or point to point tickets please.

Thank you in advance

How many travel days are you looking for? When you say "Sicily" and "southern Italy" what specific cities are you thinking of?

Your Sorrento---Rome part needs rail tickets...

Try outlining your trip in a little bit more detail, please!

If we took the ferry from Malta to Sicily(if there was a ferry available) then train from bottom tip of mainland italy along the amalfi coast to sorrento. 3nights in sorrento then on to rome.

Thank you

Sheroll, the ferry trip from Malta to Sicily (to either Catania, or somewhere on the south-east coast near Marina di Ragusa, I think)is quite short. You can also take an overnight ferry from Catania to Naples - aeroplane type seats or cabins - which could possibly tie in nicely with your Sorrento plans.
