Hi all, have recently discussed this website and this is my first post :)
Planning a trip to Spain and Portugal in January. Does anyone know how to get from Granada to Tarifa - is there a bus service and how long does it take? Is there a website where I can look up the bus timetable?
Thanks!
Mel...you can't take a bus directly from Granada-Tarifa. Instead, you have three places from which to travel to from Granada to make connections. The easiest is from Algeciras, which is only a half hour ride away from Tarifa, with 12-15 buses a day. You can also go to Cadiz or Jerez de la Frontera, but there are fewer buses making the connection to Tarifa. Check www.movelia.es for schedules and prices...you'll have to check each of the two legs separately to get an idea as to connections, times, and costs. However, they seem to be loading in their next schedules still, since there's nothing showing yet for the period after mid-October. Coaches in Spain are clean, modern, and fast, but be aware that many will not have washrooms aboard....the driver will stop every 2-2 1/2 hours. And the price can't be beat! Be aware, too, that when you purchase your ticket, there will be a seat number assigned to you....it's not open seating.
