Hi. I've noticed on the Rail Europe website that the Thalys has 50% off on certain fares. RT Brussels to Paris is $100 USD. Should I take advantage of this and cement plans before I leave, or can I get the same fare once I get to Europe and maintain my flexibility. This is the only rail journey I will be taking, so I don't plan on purchasing a railpass. Thanks!
These tickets go quickly...so book ASAP. But don't use RailEurope unless you have to. A regular Smilys discount fare (non-refundable, non-exchangeable) is 54 Euro round trip, and you can either pick it up in Belgium, or print off your ticket at home...far cheaper than RailEurope, espy with their delivery charges. Thalys is also offering a sale for travel Brussels-Paris between 7 and 9 July (there and back for the weekend) at between 19 and 25 Euro each way. The sale starts tonight at 6 pm, EDT...check out thalys.com. These two fares may NOT be available when you get to Belgium.
book when you get there.
