Has anyone used 1st-ukcarrentals.com? I somehow found this website for car rentals and their prices are very competitive to Autoeurope. They also use europcar and other rental agencies direct. They include an extra drive - no extra fee. No cancellation fee. They state all cars are automatic but can't confirm a diesel. Any comments? Thanks.

A somewhat late reply but DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. 1st-UKCarRentals is the web address for TheCarRental Company. My wife and I used this company from Vancouver to England in May 2011 and suspected it was a scam. Despite a deposit and very specific emails as to meeting at Heathrow on arrival, no representative nor car showed up - even after an hours wait after the plane landed. Repeated phone calls to the office midday on a Friday just resulted busy or recorded holding in line messages. We then had to get the credit card company to block any transactions. SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF PAIN - USE A PROPER CAR RENTAL Co. This outfit are incompetant at worst and
certainly not up to US standards of service.

Hi Tom, the car rental agency must have changed or something went wrong because when we rented the car, we picked it up at Reading, just two train stops out of London. We did not have any problems with them at all. Sorry you had such a horrible experience. We used them because Rick sometimes used them on his trips. we aren't going to have a chance anytime soon to rent a car as the airfares are way too high to plan a trip right now. Thanks for your information.

Hi, We've used Auto Europe a couple times. We've also "leased" bought the car that we rented. I was a little afraid to sign away my name on a new car but it worked out great and I would not hesitate to do that again rather than just rent. Thanks for the information. Bonnie
