We will be in Paris for a month (July)...what is the most cost effective way to travel. It seems like the Carte Orange is being phased out?
Thanks!
Garnett
Carnets ( 10 tix) are best for Metro, which is cheap and fast and covers everywhere
In the past a Carte Orange covering an entire month was available. Paris is now phasing-in the Navigo, similar to the Oyster card. I haven't used it but assume it is rechargeable like the Oyster (in London). It would be best to refer to official sources in Paris to get the best info. For a month of frequent Metro use I think the Carnet would not be the least expensive way to go.
I just Googled PARIS METRO and got tons of info on the Metro system and rates including the "Carte Navigo." Try there.
Under the new system you load a Carte Orange (either weekly or monthly) on a passe Navigo Decouverte rechargeable card. See here.
