bayern ticket

We would like to take a day trip to Neuschwanstein from Munich, come back to retrieve our luggage in Munich, and head down to Salzburg all in the same day. Will one bayern ticket cover all that? Is the ticket an 'all day pass' or just one round trip? Thanks!

The Bayern-Ticket is an all day pass. It is valid for unlimited trips on any/all regional trains in Bavaria, after 9 Am weekdays, all day on weekends. It is also valid until 3 AM the following morning (assuming you can find trains that late), so you would have plenty of time to get to Salzburg. Also, for an additional cost, you can leave Munich a little before 9 AM. The 8:52 train out of Munich towards Füssen gets to Geltendorf after 9 AM, so with an MVV ticket to Geltendorf at €6,60 pP, along with the Bayern-Ticket, you can use the earlier train.
