Is there an easy and inexpensive connection from CDG Airport and Orly Airport? Also, do you know how long it will take? Our flight leaves at of Orly 7:00 a.m. We fly into CDG and I can use Hilton Honors points and stay at CDG location. However, we fly out of Orly. Thanks.
Gina...I'd still stay in the Orly area that night...too many risks getting from CDG at that hour by anything except cab or private shuttle....and that'll cost $$$...more than offsetting your points savings. As Tim mentioned the Accor chain has some inexpensive hotels, including the Ibis and Etap chains (Formule 1, their lowest cost offering, doesn't have ensuite bathrooms...the others all do.) The Ibis Rungis has a free shuttle the 4 kilometers to the airport, and it can be had for as low as 39 Euro/night. Use Orly, France as your destination.
Gina, I just looked up a rewards stay at the Hilton Orly (I'm a Hilton Diamond member). It does permit a rewards stay. For the date I put in (June 5), it shows a rewards stay available for 30,000 points. Perhaps a rewards stay is not available on the date you want. I would suggest calling the Hilton help desk to see if they can get you a rewards stay.
If not, I would stay at the Hilton Orly anyway the night before. It's only 130Euro/night according to the website. That's not too bad and it adds to your point base.
Yes. There is a regularly scheduled bus system that goes between the two airports. HERE'S THE LINK. I believe that there are other bus and shuttle systems as well.
Air France coach #3 runs non-stop directly between CDG and ORY. The fare is 16€. Allow at least an hour--more if traffic is heavy. See here: http://tinyurl.com/5lcbuy.
You can also take the RER B line from CDG to Antony and the Orlyval driverless shuttle train from there to ORY. The fare is 17.20€. Allow an hour for the combined ride.
However, neither of these operates early enough in the morning to get you from CDG to ORY in time for a 07:00 flight. The cheap Noctilien (night) bus #120 goes directly from CDG to Orly Sud, but there are many stops. You'd have to leave CDG at 03:30 to arrive at Orly Sud at 05:08.
Can you use your Hilton Honors points at the ORY Hilton? If so, stay there.
If it were me, I'd make the journey to Orly first, and stay the night there. 7 am is pretty early to get from CDG to Orly, even by shuttle. There's a Hilton about 1 1/2 miles from Orly that could shuttle you there in lots of time.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the Orly Hilton will not allow HH points to be used, only CDG.
The Accor chain has many hotels either at or close by ORY. In descending order, from most expensive to moderate, they are Novotel, Mercure, and Ibis. The truly budget hotels in the chain are Etap and Formule 1. For a side-by-side comparison of the Novotel, Mercure, and Ibis hotels that are closest to the airport, go here: http://tinyurl.com/3nsg64.
It worked! I called HH and she was able to book me for my last night there. Unfortunately there was no availability for the first night so I will have to stay at another hotel and pack up and move to the Hilton BUT, on the bright side, I'll be close to Orly Airport! Thanks!
