I am looking at train KN 771 from Venice to Rome that leaves after midnight and arrives into the Tiburtina station at 7am. Has anyone taken this train? Is it best to get a couchette? I don't know much about the Tiburtina station. Will it be easy to get to Termini from there. Thanks, Vicki.

Tiburtina station is northwest of Termini and on the metro line. It's about four stops back to get to Termini. I'd take at least a couchette, unless you want to sleep sitting up. If you're not accustomed to that (think of how much you'd sleep on an all-night bus ride, or the overnight flight to Europe), then it could wipe out your first day in Rome.
