Need advice on train travel between lauterbrunnen and annecy. Trying not to use buses.

Your other post asks about Lausanne. Is it Lauterbrunnen or Lausanne or both?

Look it up on http://sbb.ch (Swiss Federal Railways).
Lauterbrunnen to Annecy is possible by train, but it takes nearly 6 hours and 4 changes, mainly because you have to go round Lake Geneva and you have to take a bus from Genève Cornavin station to Annemasse, because the Swiss and French rail networks do not connect in Geneva. From Lauterbrunne to Geneva there is a good train service (it is Switzerland!).
Lausanne to Annecy takes less than 3 hours, but still has the problem of having to go round Lake Geneva and get a bus from Geneva.
