My family (2adults and 18 year old daughter) plan to travel from Paris to London on a Saturday in June. What would be the best value with the most opportunity to view the country?
If you don't mind an 8-hour bus ride, you can take a Eurolines coach. The standard fare is 39€. Booked far enough in advance, you can get a 9€ fare. See www.eurolines.com. (The site will switch to French after you enter France as your departure country.)
The Eurostar train is the most pleasant way to travel, but the speed at which you'll be traveling (up to 186 mph) will limit your view of the countryside. See www.eurostar.com.
I notice on your tour, you oppted for the train. Is there a way to take a tour to one of the cities that would be the last stop before you enter the tunnel??
I believe you have me confused with another person named Tim who is a regular on the Helpline. I'm not going on any tour.
However, I can tell you that Calais is the town which is closest to the entrance to the tunnel.
