My husband and I are flying to Tallinn, Estonia for a family event on June 18th. We want to go to St. Petersburg for a few days and then to Vilnius for a few days. Any suggestions regarding travel by air, train or bus once in Tallinn.
Any other advice?
From Tallinn to St. Petersburg I'd take the ferry boat. St. Peter Line has got two sailings per week on a cruise ship type of ferry. June is the best month for a great Baltic Sea crusing experience! You can book any ferry in Europe through www.directferries.com or, of course, on the carriers' own websites. To be totally honest of the three Baltic capitals I think Riga is the most beautiful. Also the nearby seaside resort town of Jurmala is definitely worth a visit during summer months. In old Soviet times this was like the party beach town of the Communist Block. Only there people could feel somewhat free. And this spirit has survived...
