We are only going to be in Paris for a short time and would like to take a tour of WWII Normandy areas. I've read that parking and driving in Paris is a hassle, so we're thinking we'd ride a train to the area. Are buses available from the train stations to Bayeaux, or does someone have advice who has taken a day trip from Paris by train for a Normandy tour?
If I recall, you can take a train to Bayeux but I think you have to transfer in Caen. Search the Rail Europe site to be sure.
If you go to Bayeux, try Overloard Tours with Alain Chesnal. (search this site for other comments on his tours) He will come into Bayeux to pick you up, and he is so flexible I wouldn't be surprised if you could arrange to meet him near the station.
Thanks for all of your help, Angela and Kent. This is my first time to use this forum. It's nice to get some first-hand advice.
Has anyone done the Normandy tour with Paris Vision recently?
