I am traveling from Paris to Monaco via train and changing trains in Nice. I have only ten minutes to change trains, is this enough time?
Yes. Even if your Paris-Nice train is late, just tke the next one to Monaco. That's a local commuter train people tske to work and runs frequently.
We traveled Paris to Monaco and stayed on the same train all the way to Monaco. If you change to a regional train at Nice then it will be only a short trip to Monaco. When you arrive at Monaco, be sure and get your return regional ticket back to Nice right then, since the agent will not be there early most days. The Monaco station is a bit daunting so you will need to use the direct phone line in the wall outside the station and ask for a taxi, unless you are familiar with the place and know how to walk to your hotel. We liked Monaco and two days is plenty there. The train ride from Paris was delightful, book on the right side of the train, upper level if 1st class, to see the beautiful Mediterranean coastline on the last few miles.
Thanks!
and when taking the local PACA train sit on the right hand side going towards Monaco. Sitting upstairs brings heat and curved windows but fantastic views. There are 3 main Nice stations. You want Nice Ville, the one in the middle. The stairs down to the tunnel at Nice are quite steep, no elevator, no escalators. There are many exits on various different levels at Monaco station. You would do well to work out where you want to go because the multi layer map can be confusing to novices. The station and associated buildings is on something like 15 levels. That's the trick in Monaco, and why we love it so much - work out how the buildings and public elevators/escalators/tunnels/travelators can help you conquer the hills and have fun doing it. It is one of the most fun places to explore and navigate - but you do need to think in 3 dimensions.
