Apparently there is a Swiss side and a French side to the airport terminal. I am looking into renting a car for several weeks and both sides have rental car companies. Is any one better than the other? The prices appear to be better on the French side but you would have to buy a Swiss road pass for the car ($50?).
Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, and there was a recent post that touched on this. If you're planning on driving only in France, you can rent on the French side and avoid the Swiss vignette fee. There used to be a link on the airport's web site with a map and detailed instructions on different ways to access the airport, including avoiding Swiss territory and/or Swiss roadways, which was very useful when we rented and/or returned on the French side and traveled only in France. But now all I can see there is a map w/o printed directions. But it still might be helpful.
