We will be traveling in Eastern Europe this July and would like to know the best way to get from Krakow to Prague. We are traveling as a family of 5 (kids range from 12-17) and have heard there are real safety issues on the trains. Has anyone made that trip by rail or air? If so, what do you recommend?
Thanks!
Don't know what you are hearing but there are no safety issues on trains. They are fast, safe, efficient.
We made the trip by air in July, 2006 using LOT,
Polish national airlines. It was all about saving
time for us, only about 3 hours in air as opposed
to several by train. Air prices slightly highter
at that time. One caution, I believe all flights
from Krakow to Prague include a stop in Warsaw, but
on our early morning flight was no hassle.
I'll be doing the same leg this March and have looked at both train and air travel and it looks like air travel is the way to go. Czech airlines have direct flight without a stop anywhere.
