I`m going by car from Split to Dubrovnik but I´ve read that the trip conditions are not so good due to the narrowness of some parts of the road.
I´d love having some comments about this. Eloisa

That road is new - there should be no problems at all (I took a bus down that road and it was just fine - there will be border crossing with Bosnia though because they own a sliver of the coastline at Neum, so have your passport ready). The major issue you will encounter is tons of traffic if you are traveling in the summer.

It is narrow by US standards and there is a lot of traffic but the mainland roads are much better than those on the islands. If you pay attention - sometimes hard to do with the scenery - you should have no problem.
