1 hour layover in Frankfurt

JB, tough question. The official minimum connecting time in Frankfurt is 45minutes and given the jetstream it's more likely you arrive in Frankfurt early than late. You won't have to go thru customs as you don't intent to enter the Schengen zone. However, there is an extra security check for you and your carry on for flights to Israel. I assume Lufthansa gave you that connection so that I think you should be perfectly save.

Thank you for your quick response Andreas. Yes, Lufthansa gave us the connecting flight so hopefully they will usher us to the connecting flight if time is tight.

JB, if that were my itinerary I would expect to miss my connecting flight. Of course I would TRY to make it. But I would expect to miss it and plan accordingly.

Since Lufthansa gave you that booking, they will/should get you on the next available flight. Frankfurt is the airline crossroads of the entire world. You will see airlines from all over the world that you've never even heard of before. So there ought to be plenty of flights if you miss your connection.

Check right now for the next available flight after yours. If you can't look on your exact date through a website such as http://www.flightstats.com then you should be able to search for the current flights on the same day of the week as yours.

Bring a book and a good attitude. A bad attitude will only make the experience that more difficult for everyone.

I just checked...we are arriving and departing from Terminal 1. LOL so will not have far to walk.
